The Kangaroos’ second selection in the 2019 AFLW Draft, Wright has formed a strong reputation within the four walls of Arden Street as a consistently reliable defender capable of playing a multitude of roles.

One of the most understated and underrated players on the list, Wright is a strong and athletic one-on-one defender and is often the one tasked with defending the opposition’s most dangerous mid-sized forward.

A strong intercept marker, she seems to float back and mark goal-bound opposition shots on a near weekly basis, using her intelligence to move off her forward to be able to impact the play as much as possible.

North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos debut: Round 1, 2020

2023: It was another strong campaign for Wright, who again proved to be one of the League’s best tall defenders.

With Wright playing a significant role, the Kangaroos' defence finished the home and away season as the AFLW’s stingiest, conceding just 213 points in total across 10 matches – 80 less than the next best (Melbourne, 293).

The defender starred in the preliminary final triumph over Adelaide, recording a season-high 15 disposals and nine intercept possessions.
