Nick Larkey has one of the best bargain draft picks in the history of the club.

Made to bide his time at VFL level, Larkey played just the one game in 2017. He was unsighted at senior level in 2018 and played 17 games in the VFL that year, kicking 41 goals to win the Frosty Miller Medal, awarded to the competition’s leading goal-kicker.

After establishing himself as a mainstay of the side in 2019, his 2020 was hit by injury, with the forward playing just ten games for the season. He bounced back though to lead the club in goalkicking for the next three years.

Following a career best season that included a maiden All-Australian blazer, Larkey was elevated to vice-captain status before the 2024 season.

North Melbourne debut: Round 18, 2017
Career Brownlow votes: 15

2023: Larkey's seventh year as a Kangaroo was his most outstanding yet.

The key forward smashed through 71 goals from 23 games and rounded out the home and away season with totals of five, six, and a career-high nine to help solidify his position in the All-Australian team.

His magnificent year was recognised again on best and fairest night as 'Larks' came second in Syd Barker Medal vote count and was awarded the Glenn Archer Shinboner of the Year Award.
