With North notching up another exciting win on Sunday, there was a raft of impressive fantasy performances.
North Media reviews the best performers on the day in AFL Fantasy, and what they can bring to your team.
Robbie Tarrant | Week 5 Score - 119 | Average - 76 | $491,000 (+24k/-$16k season) | Ownership - 0.34%
Robbie Tarrant was outstanding as the linchpin of the North Melbourne defence during the win over Hawthorn.
The big-bodied defender took a career-high 16 marks, had 20 disposals, and laid 4 tackles for his score of 119.
Tarrant is arguably one of the most underrated defenders in the competition, and this is reflected in his extremely low ownership.
If you take the punt on him, you can be assured that Tarrant will be given every opportunity to score points, with the North vice-captain playing 92 per cent of game time so far this season.
Ben Cunnington | Week 5 Score - 109 | Average - 91.8 | $619,000 (+$14k/-$1k season) | Ownership - 0.26%
Cunnington was arguably the outstanding performer against the Hawks on Sunday, and this was reflected in the AFLCA voting, where he took the maximum 10 votes.
The tough-as-nails inside midfielder had a brilliant game, picking up 30 touches (18 contested), 6 tackles, and 6 clearances.
Although he may not have as high a ceiling for some other fantasy midfielders, his consistency is up there with the very best (reaching 85+ in four of his five games) making him a reliable selection in your team.
Jack Ziebell | Week 5 Score - 108 | Average - 93.2 | $644,000 (+$4k/-18k season) | Ownership - 0.51%
Despite playing more forward minutes in 2018, Ziebell has managed to remain a dangerous AFL Fantasy asset.
Like Cunnington, Ziebell is a model of consistency, and has reach 84 or above in each of his five games so far this season.
The skipper managed 18 disposals, 7 tackles and 2 goals for a fantasy score of 109, his biggest score of the season.
Ziebell has been awarded duel-position-status as a result of his increased time forward, and can now be picked in your team in either the midfield or forward line, making him a very attractive proposition.
Owned by just 0.51%, Ziebell could certainly prove an exciting pick going forward.
Ryan Clarke | Week 5 Score - 104 | Average - 68 | $456,000 (+$15k/-$28k season) | Ownership - 0.69%
Ryan Clarke impressed in his defensive role on the weekend, and was North’s second-highest possession-getter, behind Ben Cunnington.
Clarke’s score of 104 came from his 26 disposals, and a career-high 10 marks.
Clarke has had some very respectable fantasy scores for a player of his price so far this season, but consistency is an area of improvement.
Ball-winning defenders are much appreciated in fantasy formats, and if Clarke can keep this form up he could prove a handy addition to your team.
Jarrad Waite | Week 5 Score - 100 | Average - 89.4 | $586,000 (+12k/+$50k season) | Ownership - 0.53%
At 35 years of age, Jarrad Waite is showing no signs of slowing down.
The veteran forward had his second triple digit fantasy score of the season on Sunday, and his 100-point total could have been significantly increased if his kicking was a bit straighter, as he kicked 3.5.
Waite is averaging a career-best 89.4 points on AFL Fantasy so far in 2018, and if he stays fit he could be a fantastic point-of-difference in your forward line.
