North Melbourne players and coaches were dispersed across Tasmania on Monday for Day 1 of Community Camp, engaging with the local community to grow the love of the game.
"This is our fifth year in a row running Community Camp and we're really pleased to be able to play a JLT game down here and an additional three games in the regular season," Brad Scott said at a morning Civic Reception.
"It's great to be back at our home away from home.
"Grassroots footy is where it begins down here, and we want to really engage with that."
Many schools were visited across the state by players who taught the fundamentals of handballing and kicking with interactive games.
Among those popular with the kids were Kayne Turner, Paul Ahern and Jed Anderson, who were guests at Glen Huon primary school.
Ed Vickers-Wilis was captured giving a leadership speech to students at Kings Meadows High School's leaders induction ceremony in Launceston.
Robbie Tarrant, Marley Williams, Nathan Hrovat, Luke Davies-Uniacke and Braydon Preuss were tested in a game of Wheelchair AFL but adapted quickly, still not skilled enough to pull off a win against their more experienced opponents.
The Tassie Mariners training session was the last leg of the jam-packed day. Players in attendence were impressed by the local talent, with Tasmanian recruit Mitch Hibberd particularly excited to get back in touch with his roots.
Among the other activites were visits to Ronald McDonald House and the Youth ARC centre, while Ben Cunnington, Jarrad Waite and Scott Thompson took part in a special 'Roos Cruise', travelling back to Melbourne aboard Spirit of Tasmania.
