Ed Vickers-Willis is set to become Shinboner #1001, after being named in North’s team to take on Fremantle.
Pick 36 in the 2014 National Draft, Vickers-Willis played in all three JLT Community Series games before impressing with a best-on-ground performance against Geelong in the VFL on Sunday.
Shoulder injuries meant the defender had limited opportunities in 2015 and the early part of 2016, but a full pre-season has been invaluable.
Vickers-Willis, 21, will slot into the back half, while at the other end of the ground Mason Wood makes his long awaited return.
Wood hasn’t played since Round 16 last year, with injuries keeping him sidelined for an extended period, but made a successful return for Werribee last week.
The agile forward impressed in eight senior games in 2016, booting 12 goals.
Ruckman Braydon Preuss will be rested for the Domain Stadium clash, while Nathan Hrovat has been omitted.
