Farren Ray is a step closer to debuting for his third club after North Melbourne lodged paperwork at the AFL to upgrade him off its Rookie List on Thursday morning.
The 30-year old played at the Bulldogs (2004-2008) and St Kilda (2009 – 2015) before crossing to Arden Street to continue his journey.
He boasts more than 200 games and played in three Grand Finals with the Saints.
Injury and a change of club direction ultimately cost the pacey midfielder a spot in the Saints’ side, but he could now resurrect his career as early as Sunday when North takes on Fremantle at Etihad Stadium.
Ray replaces Ed Vicker-Willis (long term injury) on the senior list.
North will announce its squad tonight.
