North mourns Edwards
North Melbourne is mourning the loss of a great Shinboner, with the passing of John (Jack) Edwards.
Edwards, who wore number 35, played 114 games for the club between 1951 and 1959, lining up mainly at full-back.
He won the club’s best and fairest award, the Syd Barker Medal, in 1956 and represented Victoria in 1959; his last season as a VFL player.
Edwards went on to coach at VFA Level, before becoming a respected football commentator.
The club sends its sincere condolences to the Gwenda and the Edwards family.
