North Melbourne is poised to snare live-wire forward Robin Nahas as a delisted free-agent on Friday.

NMFC.com.au can reveal the Roos interviewed the 25-year-old last week and have since confirmed their intention to lodge paperwork with the AFL to make him a Kangaroo.

"Nothing has been signed as this stage but yes, it's our intention to formalise proceedings with Robin and welcome him to the club on Friday morning at some stage," General Manager of List and Player Personnel Cameron Joyce said.

"We still have to lodge the paperwork with the AFL tomorrow but we don't expect there to be any issues. Robin will be at North next season."

Nahas played 83 games with Richmond after being drafted as a Rookie in 2009 and has kicked 100 goals.

"We feel there's a very specific role for someone of Robin's talent and he'll be a great addition to the club.

"He'll bring some more speed to our forward-line and just as important, some more defensive pressure in our forward half complementing the likes of Lindsay Thomas."

Standing at just 176 centimetres tall, Nahas played only six games for the Tigers in 2013, but played every game in 2011 and 2012 kicking 29 and 34 goals respectively.

"Robin is known for his pace, energy and tackling pressure and we feel he will be a very solid contributor."

Nahas will travel to Utah with the team on November 15 joining fellow newcomer Nick Dal Santo.

The Nahas selection means North will not be eligible to use Pick 65 in the National Draft and will now have two 'live' picks instead of three; 30 and 47.
